Do you know the difference between feelings and emotions?
Between thoughts and sensations?
Do you know what “drives” you?
Did you know that what is projected onto to “The Screen of Your Mind” influences your life?
Do you know that YOU are the projectionist?
Do you have a deep understanding of who YOU really are?
And who you aren’t?
Here’s a tip:
You are an amazing being, innately able to create whatever life you want.
I’m not just saying this.
It is the truth of who you are.
Have you been living your life in limbo,
Waiting until the right job,
Partner or circumstance to show up before you can be happy?
Stop for a moment and ask yourself, “What am I waiting for to have the life I want and deserve?”
Is there a dream you have been holding? You can make it happen.
Is there something you would like to heal? You can create the healing.
Is there something holding you back? You can break through.
You are standing in the middle of a field of infinite possibility.
In the words of Martha Graham,
“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening
that is translated through you into action,
and because there is only one of you in all of time,
this expression is unique.
And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium
and it will be lost.
The world will not have it.”
That is extremely powerful if you think about it.
What is your genius?
What can you do that nobody else is capable of?
By choosing to hide your purpose, you are denying the world a piece of beauty.
I read about uniqueness a lot online, in books and magazines.
There really is no other person like you who looks like you,
acts like you,
thinks like you,
We’ve all got our own individual appearances –
height, weight, body shape, eye color, hair color etc.
We’ve all got our own values, emotions, strengths and weaknesses.
We’ve all got our own talents.
We’ve all got our own challenges,
roads to travel
We’ve all got our own reason to alive.
So why do we try so hard to be something else?
Why do we dye our hair?
Why do we hide our emotions?
Why do we change ourselves to please others?
Why do we try to copy what others are doing?
Why do we fight so hard against a path that has been chosen for us?
Why do we waste our time in jobs we hate?
Why are we not proud of our gifts?
Why do we keep ourselves small just so that others don’t feel threatened?
Why do we get jealous of others owning their uniqueness and then try to copy that?
Why do we waste so much time and energy trying to be something we’re not?
Think about it…
We come to Earth with our own unique story to write in this lifetime.
That story is narrated by our very own unique soul journey.
There really isn’t anyone like us in the world.
So instead of wasting energy on trying to be something we’re not, why don’t we embrace our uniqueness?
Be proud of our appearance
Share and be proud of our qualities, strengths and emotions
Trust what we’ve learnt from our life experiences and pass on our knowledge to others.
Leave the boring job to pursue our dreams
Sit in on a Saturday night because that’s what makes you happy rather than dragging yourself out in public just to fit in.
Jump up and down and dance at the concert because you got the sudden urge to do that.
Giggle during a meditation class – that emotion wants out so why suppress it
I find it very interesting that there are groups of people all doing the same things.
Take my painting business for example.
The competition would have really threatened me in the past,
but I have learned that if I dare to be my own unique self,
I will draw the people who want to work with me, to me, for being me.
The competition really is irrelevant because no one can be me and I can’t be them.
Yes we may be similar people but no one has experienced what I’ve experienced like I’ve experienced it.
If I embrace what makes me special instead of copying others
then I believe that the Lord will steer me in the right direction.
I can then stop all that fumbling around trying to be something I’m not.
We can look to the Bible for further insight on this subject.
(Psalm 138:8) “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”
(Matthew 5:13-16) “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
We are called to be both “Salt” and “Light”.
Neither salt, nor light does any good if it isn’t used.
A small amount of salt can season an entire meal.
A small match light can illuminate a room.
God needs us to embrace the gifts that he gave to us, and only us, so that His purposes can be fulfilled on this earth.
Embracing your uniqueness is about knowing who you are,
working with what you’ve got,
and standing tall.
Be your unique self.
Share it with the world.
Live the purpose you were born to live.
That purpose might be as simple as making people smile.
How wonderful to bring joy to the world.
Your smile just may be your “Salt”
Are you embracing your unique being?
Where in your life can you step up and share the gifts you’ve been born with?
What experiences in your life have made you who you are today and how can you build on this?
What magic could happen when discover your purpose?
We all have something to offer.
